This page is dedicated to explaining what all is loaded in my xbox softmod.
First, a couple of words:
Dashboard: The interface that is shown when the xbox is started
XBMC: X Box Media Center - The dashboard that I load. I put on a build made in August 07. By far the most updated dash.
The following link describes the operating system:

The 360 interface CAN NOT play emulators! (I load over 2000 games from most the older systems; ie. Atari, Nes, Snes, Genesis, N64, etc.)
Although the xbox 360 is the only device that can currently play xbox 360 games. If you want a solid media center that is flexible, compatible, and upgradeable, XBMC is for you.
With a harddrive upgrade (which I also do), it can play games and movies from the drive so you can sell that big clutter of discs you have, but don't want to get rid of.
For Example: A terabyte Harddrive can hold over 200 movies and games.
If you just want to play 360 games, you won't need this mod, because the xbox will NEVER play them...Sorry, it's a hardware thing, not software.
The 360 interface is not where XBMC is... The only thing it has better is the ability to play the newer games, and xbox live. Besides that, it is limited in every way media can be limited.
Don't get me wrong, I have a 360, but this thing is way more entertaining since you can play pretty much any game from any older system at any time. So that means when you're bored of super mario after 5 minutes, you just simply switched to altered beast, pick genesis or arcade version...
Now with that said, remember that I don't chip. I do everything through the dashboards and various interfaces. There is no need to put a master override "chip" in, when I can reprogram the xbox through software exploits. No chip, no resistance, and the same exact result... a modified xbox.
Why so cheap? You may be asking why this is cheaper than other mods out there. This is a software mod, and I am confident that there are enough people out there to justify lowering the price. It's stable, and I've spent many hours making everything work right. I'm not trying to make a fortune off each xbox, just some cash on the side for school.
Why not chip?
